So we went to the doctor today and the visit was quite short. I have gained only 3 pounds in 4 weeks which is the perfect weight gain, woo hoo, go me! And we heard the baby's heart beat. It's beating at 160 bpm, which is exactly what it should be....it was really awesome to hear. We also got to hear it move which was pretty cool too. I go back to the doctor in 4 weeks for this really in depth ultrasound where they take measurements and look at the organs and they can also determine the sex, which we are opting out of, of course. Sorry no new pics!

Today is the day
So we decided to tell everyone this weekend about our exciting news. For those of you new to the site, welcome! So Chris and I are having a baby! I will be 12 weeks pregnant starting Monday so we thought with the long weekend it would be a good time to tell the rest of our family. The due date is Jan. 19th, 2009. We have decided to wait until the birth to find out the sex so it will be a big surprise. We have chosen two names, if it's a boy we have chosen Caden Michael and if it's a girl we have chosen Scarlett Lynne. I went to the doctor about two weeks ago and the baby was fine. It was about 1 1/2 inches and it is already moving, although I can't feel anything yet. I go to the doctor in about 2 1/2 weeks and we will keep you posted with pictures and updates as the pregnancy continues.

Fate or Karma or something hates us
Just when you think things should finally start looking up and Fate and Karma are finally on your side, they turn around spit in your face and give you an Indian Rug Burn. So now our furnace broke, which, apparently, makes the A/C blow into the house and as a result we have no cold air inside. So on top of a new A/C we get a new furnace....yay. All I can say is I'm adding at least $20,000 onto the resale value of our house for all the pain and suffering. So Mom and Dad, pending a Hurricane your visit next week should be pleasant.

Pomeranian's + Humidity = Death
Well today was the doctors visit and everything checked out great! The baby is growing normally and everything looks fine. We saw the baby move for the first time today, it was the coolest thing ever! Everything else in our lives is going well. Chris is almost done with school, only four days left and I'm enjoying my much needed break. On a side note, I almost killed Titian the other day. I was playing with the dogs in the backyard and well, it's so hot and humid that after 10 minutes outside running around Titian probably should have gone into a heat related coma but instead he just walked around the house for an hour backwards sneezing and throwing up. Note to self, do not play with Pomeranian's outside in Houston between the months of March and November. He's definitely getting shaved again next week. Oh yah, we got a nice little notice from our homeowners association saying that we needed to clean the tree debris from our front yard and mow our yard. First of all, our grass doesn't grow in our front yard since we don't water and it hasn't rained in three months. Second of all, there is no tree debris in our front yard. There are at least 20 other houses I drive by everyday that look 10 times more shabby than ours.......needless to say I hate them. They can take that fine and shove it! Well, now that I'm done stickin' it to the man....I promise Mom pictures will be coming later!

HELLO TO ALL!
Hello to all our family and friends! Chris and I thought this would be an excellent idea for us to keep all of our friends and family apprised of our lives, however boring they may be. Chris and I have been very busy lately. I am currently on break from photography school, which I am enjoying very much. Chris is taking his last class ever this summer and will begin preparations to take the, costly, CPA exam. We are currently living outside of Houston, but hopefully that won't last much longer because, well, the humidity is unbearable. Our two dogs are doing quite well. Titian is 3 and Lucky is 2 and they are both as needy as ever.
Recent events: Congrats to Michael and Julie on their marriage! It was wonderful! Also, our air conditioner broke and I do not recommend going without air conditioning in Houston in the summer, unless you are a complete idiot or have some sort of death wish.
